David Ward – TEDxDubbo: FACETS (Licensee)

David WardDavid has been an Agricultural Consultant, Agronomist, Trainer and facilitator in sustainable and Holistic Farming practices for the past 17 years. Currently the General Manager for Holistic Results, a consultancy and training business using the principles of Holistic Management founded by Allan Savory. David, along with his father, strives to build resilient agricultural businesses to be family owned and operated to become multinational corporate organizations. David has had extensive experience in Australia and the US in broad acre and irrigated crop production working closely with industry and association bodies in legislative and practical enhancements for farmers and agribusiness. David has been intimately involved in changing the legislation for the use and production of Industrial Hemp in Australia and has worked on business development and commercialization of a major Australian condiment mustard and intensive horticultural projects using demand driven models from customer to farmer. David has a proven record in people management and the understanding of farmers, regional communities and the consumer’s role in agricultural production systems and outcomes. David is married with two kids and resides in Dubbo, NSW.

Fiona White – TEDxDubbo: FACETS (Committee Member)

Fiona WhiteFiona White has 18 years of marketing and management experience across retail, hospitality, pharmaceutical, agricultural and consumer marketing. Having worked in both agencies and the B2B sector, Fiona strives to bring a balance between analytical relationships and psychological process; with a special interest in Agricultural Marketing. Fiona is an owner of several small businesses in addition to her role in R&D in a number of organisations.

 

Andrew Ward – TEDxDubbo: FACETS (Committee Member)
Andrew WardAndrew Ward is David’s brother and grew up in Northern NSW and went to Sydney University where he failed to finish a degree in horticultural science. Whilst at university, he started the Sustainability Club. In 2009, Andrew attended the first Social Entrepreneurs Salon hosted by UNSW. Today he is an entrepreneur, founding Australia’s largest massage company, 3 Minute Angels. Andrew is also Managing Director of Workplace Incentives. In 2010, he founded Your Portal – a business servicing small companies with outsourced accounting, IT and communication platforms.

Dominic Green – TEDxDubbo: FACETS (Committee Member)

Dom GreenDominic has been involved in the legal industry since 2001. Throughout this time he has built valuable skills in commercial related areas, in addition to rare and specialised skills and knowledge in newly emerging industries, being at the forefront of technological, commercial, political and legal developments, particularly related to renewable energy, carbon management, clean technologies and other sustainable initiatives. Through extremely quick learning and lateral thinking, he has delivered highly innovative solutions in substantial ways to major clients, including large-scale utilities, blue chip corporations, Government departments and LGAs, gaining and maintaining an impressive contact base along the way. Dominic has a proven ability to intricately understand new industries and businesses very quickly, which has been boosted by his consistent dedication to continuing education.

James Gowing – TEDxDubbo: FACETS (Art Director)

James GowingRaised in country NSW, the practiced landscape photographer jumped on the film bandwagon at the beginning of 2008 as DoP of the feature film – Sweet Marshall. In 2010, James made a documentary of his travels into Northern Queensland with local identity and ABC Mt Isa Radio Host, Scott Barrett. James is combining his love for nature and cinematography in his role as Art Director for TEDxDubbo: FACETS.

 

Andrew Simms – TEDxDubbo: FACETS (Committee Member)

Andrew SimmsFounder of Tagmotion, an online video software company. The business grew from a US$200,000 grant from one of the biggest telco’s in Asia Pacific and won a commercialisation grant from the Australian government. Andrew has a background in marketing, having co-founded integrated marketing agency ‘da Vinci’ in Sydney, and worked as an ad agency executive with DDB and McCann Erickson; with clients IBM and Procter & Gamble. As marketing communications manager for Digital Equipment’s PC Business Unit, he helped them reach #4 in the Australian market & Digital’s best-performing territory worldwide.

 

Sally White – TEDxDubbo: FACETS (Committee Member)

Sally White

Sally White is the editor of The Land newspaper which this year celebrates 100 years as the “bible of the bush”. Hailing from a cropping operation at Crooble in the State’s North West, she has 15 years experience in rural journalism writing for some of the country’s biggest agricultural titles. Past roles include national grains writer for Rural Press and editor of The Land’s sister paper in Victoria, Stock & Land. The Land, a supporting partner of TEDxDubbo FACETS, is the current Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers Association Newspaper of the Year (non-daily 25,000-90,000).

 

Darren Bennett – TEDxDubbo: FACETS (Team Member)

Studying Business at Bristol in the UK, Darren has developed a theoretical framework into substantial working experience. Taking roles within the marketing industry with both leading London organisations and growing rural enterprises, Darren has gained knowledge from varied environments. His extensive experience with on-line retail added social media marketing and brand development skills, whilst also exposing him to a realised global marketplace. Now, utilising his abilities, he’s working within the TEDxDubbo: FACETS organisation to help make the event & potential future events, a success.
